Due to the loss of funding in the future to the Emergency Services Division the Board of Washington Township Trustee made the decision to centralize the operations of the Fire - EMS Department. This decision will save money for the future of this service that is provided so that we may continue to provide the same and/or better service to the community at a reduce cost. Do to the tax evaluation of the Zimmer Plant reducing its value by $44,000,000.00 dollars, which is a loss of 318,000.00 dollars township wide starting in 2017 fiscal year.

Over the next several years the Emergency Services Division will lose an additional $200,000.00 with the lose of the Tangible Personnel Property Tax being phased out. So it was imperative that the township make a decision on the future of the emergency services division with the construction of a central fire station covering the entire township.
